The EZO Venus de Milo Soloist Universal Body Template is the quintessential starting point for building a Venus de Milo in a small shop.

Made from MDF and based directly on the Venus de Milo body geometry, this full-size template provides the master body profile shared across the VDM platform. The same template can be used to build a VDM guitar, bass, baritone, or your own custom variation.

There are no neck pockets, pickup routes, bridge holes, or control layouts to dictate what the finished instrument has to become.

That's intentional.

Universal by Design

At the heart of the Venus de Milo platform is a common body shape.

Whether you're building a 25.5" guitar, 34" bass, baritone, or something entirely your own, the process begins with the same VDM Soloist body profile.

The Universal Body Template gives you that foundation while leaving instrument-specific geometry to the appropriate templates, jigs, and layout tools.

That means you're not buying a template for one particular VDM.

You're buying the starting point for the VDM platform.

Made for the Small Shop

You don't need a CNC router to build a Venus de Milo.

Trace the profile onto your body blank, rough-cut it with a bandsaw or jigsaw, then use the MDF template with a pattern or flush-trim router bit to establish the finished body profile.

Once the body is established, the rest of the instrument can be laid out according to the configuration you're building.

Use it once, or keep it in the shop as a reusable master for future VDM builds.

The Universal Body Template contains only the VDM body profile.

No neck pocket.
No pickup routes.
No bridge location.
No control cavity.

Those features depend on what you're building.

This keeps the template useful across the entire VDM family and gives builders the freedom to choose their own hardware, scale length, neck configuration, electronics, and layout.
